Editor,

It’s refreshing for a political candidate to search out opinions of those he or she wishes to serve. Greg Gianforte is doing just that in his travels around the state.

We in Lake County have the opportunity to meet Gianforte face-to-face on Feb. 13 between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. at the Blacktail Software building located at 145 Lakecrest Drive (up the hill from the new Polson Taco Bell). We can personally ask him those tough questions that have been gnawing at us to see if he is the candidate who will best serve us.

There is a revolution taking place across our country and it appears we, the people, no longer desire politics as usual. The hardworking men and women can no longer afford our government and the people who live off of it.

I believe in our form of government but do not care for those we have entrusted to run our government. I understand that Montana is facing an unfunded liability of nearly a billion dollars that the most recent and current administrations have been kicking down the road and I suspect our state government has grown in size under the same last two administrations.

We can no longer afford bigger government. We need change now more than ever. I urge all who feel the same to visit with Gianforte on Saturday to see if he is our man to redirect our state government, to decrease the size of government, to eliminate government agencies intrusion and interference in our lives, and to get our fiscal house in order so it’s not a burden on us, our children, and our children’s children.
