CHARLO — Support for the arts was in full swing Saturday evening as community members packed Leon Hall to bid on local artisans’ creations and snack on sweets.

The annual fundraising Valentine party helps the non-profit Ninepipe Arts Group fund projects such as their four-day fine arts camp for young students held at each summer at Charlo schools. The group also brings Missoula Children’s Theater and Shakespeare in the Park to the community, and funds college scholarships and art-related school field trips.

KC and the Valley Cats filled the hall with sounds of the swing era as supporters bid on silent auction items, purchased tickets toward raffle baskets and even bid on delectable take-away desserts.

Charlo High School art students created musically-themed, multi-media centerpieces that were also available for purchase at the event.
