Editor,
I had the opportunity in my younger days to live in a Muslim country for about seven years. I met and talked to many hundreds of Muslims.
Everyone I came into contact with treated me with respect and kindness. I never had a bad experience in the seven years I was there. I found the people very friendly. I was also very impressed with their devotion to their religion.
Some people don’t know what to think of Muslims because they have never met one. All they see is what happens to be on the news.
There are 2.8 billion Muslims in the world; 99.9 percent are just trying to feed and educate their children just like us. Just because a very small percent of them are radical doesn’t mean we should treat them all with disrespect. I wouldn’t want somebody from another country to judge me because of the millions of gangs and drug dealers we have in the U.S.
For a person to judge them by what they see on the news is just showing their lack of intelligence.
