Editor,
I applaud the St. Ignatius Chamber of Commerce for moving their date for their Good Old Days celebration to the fourth weekend instead of the third weekend in July which they had last year. I am sure it will benefit them as well as the Polson area activities by not overcrowding the calendar.
The third weekend of July, July 16-17, is the 26th year for the Miracle of America Museum’s Live History Days annual celebration. We are looking for anyone interested in displaying pioneer crafts or talents to call me at 406-270-7895. Exhibitors who demonstrate their talents may also sell their wares. Anyone interested in helping operate some of the museum artifacts may be mentored or trained in advance by calling or stopping by. This would include but not limited to train engineers, sawmill operation, blacksmith, tractor or stationary engine operation, woodworking and carving, quilting, spinning, weaving, shingle saw operation, leatherwork, soap making, butter churning, school teachers and readers, musicians, military equipment operators, silversmiths, glass blowers, gunslingers, flint knappers, rope making, etc. Bring your antique car and give rides or other antiques for show and tell. More info later.
The Polson Cherry Festival will be in full swing that same weekend also, so put both activities on your calendar.
