Justice of the Peace Randal L. Owens dealt with the following cases Sept. 2-8:

The following individuals were found guilty of seatbelt violation and were fined $20: Onyhka A. Hughson, 28; Larry Dewayne Jacobson, 63; Matthew Raine Kates, 23.

The following individuals were found guilty of speeding: Kelsi Nicole Plante, 17, fined $55; Paula Sas-Sheridan, 59, fined $70; Samantha Grench, 21, fined $85; Kathleen Bisson Smith, 69; fined $20; Jordan Alyse Smith, 21, fined $20; Richard Eiler Ridgeway, 64, fined $20; Shelby Lynn Caudill, 23, fined $55; Zeb Marvin Barber, 32, fined $70.

John Paul Stephens, 44, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle while privilege to do so is suspended or revoked. He was fined $250, charged $35 in court costs, and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 178 days suspended. Stephens also pleaded guilty to obstructing a peace officer or other public servant. He was fined $100 and charged $85 in court costs.

Wesley Ray Johnson, 60, forfeited a $50 bond and $35 in court costs for improper passing, in no-passing zone.

James Lee Holland, 66, forfeited a $50 fine and $35 in court costs for driving without a valid drivers license.

Leslie Appeldoorn Coates, 57, forfeited a $50 fine and $35 in court costs for operating with expired registration, failure to reregister. Coates also forfeited a $50 fine and $35 in court costs for careless driving.

Johnathan Wane Salway, 32, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense. He was fined $600, charged $85 in court costs, and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 179 days suspended. Salway also pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle on highway. He was fined $75. Salway also pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle while privilege to do so is suspended or revoked. He was fined $500 with $250 suspended, charged $35 in court costs and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 178 days suspended.

Madison L. Koberg, 18, forfeited a $20 fine for seatbelt violation. Kobert also forfeited a $20 fine for speeding on non-interstate – exceeding day limit of 70 mph.

Craig R. Cable, 69, pleaded guilty to purposely attracting ungulates, bears or lions with feed or attractants. He was fined $100 and charged $35 in court costs.

Brandon Darin Hanken, 19, forfeited a $250 fine and $35 in court costs for operating without liability insurance in effect, first offense. Hanken also forfeited a $20 fine for seatbelt violation.
