Judge James A. Manley sentenced the following individual Wednesday, Oct. 12:
Damian Armando Talamantes, 39, Ronan, was sentenced to Lake County Jail for six months, all suspended but time served, for violation of a protective order, first offense, a misdemeanor. In June a jury found him guilty of the misdemeanor, but a second offense of felony stalking ended up in a mistrial. That charge was dismissed on Wednesday.
According to court documents, although he had a restraining order, Talamantes contacted a woman by telephone and later through a Facebook message in November 2014, violating the protective order. The woman was the victim of a partner family assault conviction that Talamantes served time for earlier in 2014.
