POLSON – Pirate’s Hunter Fritsch (160) pinned Griffin Schoch of Lake City in the Owen Invitational finals to finish the weekend undefeated, helping the Pirates to a fourth-place finish in the 18-team tournament.

Kedrick Baker (103), Mateo Quinones (120), Bridger Wenzel (132) and Parker Adler (145) all advanced to the finals, finishing second.

“I was really pleased that we put that many kids into the finals,” Pirate’s head coach Bill Owen said.

The Pirates will wrestle in Frenchtown on Tuesday and compete in the Mining City Dual on Friday and Saturday in Butte.

Ronan Chiefs’ Hunter Peterson (126) also went undefeated this weekend by winning his final with a pin of Eureka’s Kahden Bakkila.

Zane Walchuck (103) finished fourth, Owen Brown (120) finished third and Happy Cheff (152) finished fourth for Ronan, which finished eighth.

The Chiefs make a stop in Anaconda on Thursday, before heading to Butte for the Mining City Dual on Friday and Saturday.
