Copper Mountain Coffee opens in Polson

POLSON — Polson has a new coffee shop.

Copper Mountain Coffee, which opened Jan. 20 in the Ridgewater development, is the company’s ninth location in Northwest Montana. Five of the company’s stores are in Kalispell with two in Missoula and one in Libby.

Most of the Copper Mountain Coffee stores are kiosks, but Polson’s is an actual store and the largest of the company’s two walk-in locations, store manager Roxanne Hamann said.

Located at 101 Whitewater Place in the same building as Polson Medical Fitness Center, Copper Mountain Coffee sells coffee from Dillanos Coffee Roasters of Sumner, Washington.

Some of the other drinks offered include: espresso shakes, which consists of vanilla ice cream and espresso, and fruit-flavored strawberry, mango, peach and wild berry yogurt smoothies. Red Bull energy drinks are also sold with various flavorings added.

The business sells baked goods from Seattle’s Favorites, which include muffin tops, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, bagel dogs and cake pops.

Hamann is no stranger to the Polson coffee scene, having previously owned the “Who Spilled the Beans” kiosk across from Super 1 grocery from 2014-15.

Copper Mountain Coffee has a drive-through window and two couches with free wifi where customers can lounge in a typical coffeehouse experience.

Hamann said the company’s owner, Robin Lyon, had been looking for a location in Polson for a couple of years. She found her place at Ridgewater in Nate Modderman’s building.

Customers may notice a white butterfly in the company’s logo. The butterfly was added to the logo in honor of Lyon’s daughter, Hanna, who died in a car accident eight years ago.

Also in honor of her daughter, Copper Mountain Coffee sells the Dream Blend, which is the business’ most popular seller, Lyon said.

Business hours are 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
