Woman faces two child criminal endangerment charges

POLSON –A 30-year-old Browning woman faces criminal child endangerment charges following two separate incidents.

Rena Diachell Ladd was charged following a Sept. 8, 2016 incident in which a vehicle crossed Montana Highway 35 and struck a utility pole. Minor children aged 2 and 4 were in the vehicle at the time and one was not wearing a seatbelt, according to a court document. Ladd suffered from a broken leg in the incident and was also cited for driving without a license and insurance. A blood sample indicated that she had a blood alcohol content of .169, a court record states.

She was charged again following a Jan. 22 incident on U.S. Highway 93, and minors aged 2 and 5 were in the vehicle at the time.

According to a court document, Ladd had a blood alcohol content of .04 and .036 mg/l of Alprazolam anxiety medicine in her system along with THC, the primary active ingredient in marijuana.

She also faces a bail jumping charge.

Ladd pled not guilty to all charges in district court on June 28. Trial date for the two cases was scheduled for Dec. 4.
