End of summer gymnastics program offered at Head Over Heels

By Rob Zolman                    Valley Journal

POLSON – What are you doing the rest of this summer? Head Over Heels gymnastics studio has an end of summer program that will make you flip.

Head Over Heels is now offering classes in gymnastics, tumbling and dance for all skill levels. Open gym and party options are also available.

Gymnastic classes offered include traditional routines like bars, beam and vault as well as tumbling, cheerleading, ballet, hip hop, contemporary and jazz dance.

Head Over Heels owner Jessica Edwards started gymnastics at the age of five and competed through the eighth level.

As a teenager, Edwards started teaching other students to help pay for her classes. For the last 25 years, Edwards has been involved in some form or another with teaching gymnastics. “I just love teaching,” she said.

Back in 2010, “I was not planning on having a business,” recalls Edwards. “I started teaching just a little bit for my kids and their friends, but it continued to grow and grow.”

In 2013, Edwards made it official and started Head Over Heels. Over the last few years, the studio’s location has moved a few times. “I had started stock piling equipment in a storage unit, hoping that I might have a building someday.”

In late November of last year, Edwards was able to unload the storage units in their new beautiful home at 101 Whitewater Place Ste. B in Polson.

The new facility houses a sprung practice floor, landing pit, enclosed dance room and a high ceiling to allow for cheerleading routines.

Edwards and her staff focuses primarily on recreational programs consisting of affordable classes where students will be able to learn proper gymnastic form, make improvements in their physical fitness, physical coordination and self-confidence while still having time to spend on other sports and activities.
