Spirit of Christ felt on Thanksgiving Day

I firsthand observed the spirit of unconditional love and giving on Thanksgiving Day in the Polson area. It came from the Polson Senior Citizen’s Center, churches, a young couple with three little children on a limited income buy a turkey for a family in need they didn’t know, and others opening their homes and tables to anyone around them, sharing what they had, including the CSKT Tribes providing meals to their elderly members. Regardless of their religion, political views, positions in the community, hearts were focused on unconditional giving. I have never experienced this before by so many, what a blessing.
The Polson Senior Center put on a phenomenal turkey dinner free of charge to hundreds in the community, including having the meals delivered to those who could not attend. This was done entirely by volunteers who gave of themselves to donate food, cook, wash dishes, deliver meals, and clean up.
A young couple with young children and living month to month, purchased a turkey for a family they felt had more need than they did. And then they opened their home and meal to some pretty lonely people in the community. How refreshing. The CSKT Tribes gave out to their elders and disabled a turkey and the basic Thanksgiving “fixins,” so that they might enjoy a true Thanksgiving dinner.
We might ask ourselves why this spirit can’t be a part of everyday life. Whatever answer is in your heart ... let me just say: Thank you all for your unconditional giving and love for your fellow man. Again, what a blessing.
