News from the Polson Police Department

POLSON — The Polson Police Department would like to make members and guests of our community aware of counterfeit money circulating in our area. We are investigating three incidents in which $20 and $100 counterfeit bills have been circulated. The fake money is unique in the fact that it contains Chinese writing on the bills. The writing translates “Not to be used as real currency” and “Bill to be used for counting practice.” These fake bills are used by Chinese banks for training. When someone attempts to pass the counterfeit bill as real currency it becomes a crime. If you locate any of these counterfeit bills please contact law enforcement at 406-883-7301 or in the event of an emergency 9-1-1.
