RONAN – Several businesses were broken into along U.S. Highway 93 in town either in the late night hours or early morning around June 10.

Businesses that were broken into include: the Mexpress restaurant, Stageline Pizza, Dr. Tim Bagnell’s dental clinic, Providence St. Joseph Medical Clinic and a veterinary clinic.

Ronan Police Chief Ken Weaver said the incident is under investigation, and that it appears the suspects were looking for cash. He said the businesses weren’t vandalized, although business doors were damaged as the suspects broke in. Dr. Bagnell’s dental clinic and the medical clinic received damage to the doors, but the suspects didn’t get in. At Mexpress, the suspects broke open the door.

Mexpress co-owner Jeremy Pichler said about $850 in cash was taken from the restaurant along with a camera that would have identified the suspects. He said a donation jar with about $250 was also taken. His son, Brad Pichler, was collecting donations for a trip to California where he’ll participate in a skateboarding event to raise proceeds for a cancer benefit.

Weaver asks anyone with information about the incident to give him a call. “If anyone saw a suspicious vehicle in the area, come forward and let us know,” he said.
