LAKE COUNTY – Law enforcement officials are looking for suspects involved in a sexual assault case that occurred south of Polson on U.S. Highway 93 at 10 p.m. on Aug. 25.

Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said a teenage boy was walking along the highway when he was approached by two males, forced into a vehicle, and sexually assaulted.

Bell said the vehicle was described as a black or dark-colored Subaru with California plates.  The males were described as wearing blue shirts and blue jeans. One male suspect was described as larger in build than the other.

“If members of the public have any information about the suspects or the vehicle, please contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office,” Bells said.

In a separate incident, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Police investigated the report of possible child abuse occurring in the Ronan area. The victim is four years old.

“Officers were able to locate the child and determined he was in need of immediate medical attention,” Bell said. “The child was transported via ambulance to a local hospital prior to being flown to an out-of-state hospital. The child is currently in stable condition.”

Keith Michel Jr., 28, was arrested on an outstanding warrant and later charged with assault on a minor involving the four year old. Michel was placed in the Lake County Jail where he remains on a $200,000 bond, Bell said.

A 24- year-old female was also arrested for an outstanding warrant through tribal court during the incident involving the child. “Other children in the home were remanded to Tribal Social Services,” he said. “The investigation is continuing, and it is expected that more charges may be filed.”

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to another incident on Aug. 24 involving a narcotics-related search warrant at a Pablo residence. Marcos Escobado, 26, from Charlo, was charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute. Isaiah Lamere, 22, from Medford, Oregon, was charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia. Dewayna Grey Cloud, 28, from Elmo, was charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia. Jerry Austin, 76, of Pablo was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
