McDonald best choice for commissioner

On Nov. 6, we (Caitlin Shelman and Seth Rigles) will be voting for Caroline McDonald for Lake County commissioner for two main reasons. First and foremost, Gale Decker worked to repeal the innovative density map developed by county commissioners in 2003. This common sense density map helped preserve our rural landscape by encouraging growth around population centers, rather than in productive farmland or sensitive wildlife corridors. Caroline McDonald is committed to listening to the majority of Lake County residents and working to restore the density map. The second reason we will vote for Caroline is that she is willing to work with CSKT. We are a non-tribal household, but we appreciate all the work CSKT does to protect land in Lake County. CSKT also has access to additional resources that could be combined with Lake County resources for mutually beneficial projects around infrastructure, water quality, education and law enforcement. We should be working with our neighbors and pooling resources. Caroline McDonald is eager to make our communities stronger by bringing us together.
