Boys Basketball

Mission Bulldogs

On Thursday, Dec. 20, the Mission Bulldogs defeated visiting Troy Trojans 70-45 to remain undefeated on the season. Wacey McClure led the Bulldogs with 17 points. For the Bulldogs, Jacob Hugs scored 14 points, Jedi Christy followed with 13 points, Flint McPherson chipped in with 12 points and Lucas Vanderburg added 10 points.

 

Polson Pirates

The Frenchtown Broncs outlasted visiting Polson Pirates 52-50 on Thursday, Dec. 20. Colton Graham scored a team leading 19 as Micah Askan chipped in 11 points. On Saturday, Dec. 22, the Pirates fell 68-59 on the road against the Browning Indians. Colton Graham led the Pirates with 12 points.

 

Charlo Vikings

Connor Koenig had 18 points as the Charlo Vikings picked up a 62-52 road win in Noxon against the Red Devils on Friday, Dec. 21. Nate Delaney scored 16 points and Landers Smith had 10 points for the Vikings. Smith scored a game high 16 points as Charlo dispatched visiting the Two Eagle River Eagles 54-27 on Saturday, Dec. 22. For the undefeated Vikings, Garett Vaughn scored 11 points. Travis Pierre scored 13 points to pace the Eagles.

 

Ronan Chiefs

On Friday, Dec. 21, the Ronan Chiefs defeated the visiting Columbia Falls Wildcats 36-35 on a layup with four seconds to go in the game by Zarec Couture. Anthony Camel finished with a game high 21 points for the Chiefs as the team posted their first win on the season. 

 

Arlee Warriors

The Arlee Warriors put another checkmark in the win column with a 70-25 victory over the visiting St. Regis Tigers on Friday, Dec. 21. 

 

Girls Basketball

Mission Lady Bulldogs

The Mission Lady Bulldogs fell on the road 83-54 Thursday, Dec. 20, to the Florence Lady Falcons.

Azia Umphrey scored a Lady Bulldog team high 16 points. Karolyna Buck added 14 points, and Addison Arlint netted 13 in the Lady Bulldog’s first loss on the season.

 

Polson Lady Pirates

The Frenchtown Lady Broncs outscored the hosting Polson Lady Pirates 56-16 in Western A girls basketball action on Thursday, Dec. 20. The Browning Lady Indians outpaced the visiting Lady Pirate 83-29 in a Western A conference game on Saturday, Dec. 22.

 

Charlo Lady Vikings

The Charlo Lady Vikings nearly doubled the scoring output of the hosting Noxon Lady Red Devils in a 49-25 District 14C road win Friday, Dec. 21. For the Lady Vikings, Carlee Fryberger led with 12 points. On Saturday, Dec. 22, the Lady Vikings led 46-2 at the half to remain unbeaten with a 78-4 victory against visiting Two Eagle River Lady Eagles. Liev Smith, Destiny Manuel and Carlee Fryberger each scored a game high 12 points for the Lady Vikings. Lady Viking Kira McPhail chipped in 11 more. TaRae GoodLuck scored all four points for the Lady Eagles.

 

Ronan Maidens

Maiden Jaeleigh Gatch scored a team high nine points as the Columbia Falls Wildkats dispatched visiting Ronan 40-27 Friday, Dec. 21.

 

Arlee Scarlets

Arlee’s Alyssia Vanderburg led all scorers with 21 points as the Arlee Scarlets outscored the visiting St. Regis Lady Tigers 61-31 in a District 14C girls basketball match-up on Friday, Dec. 21. Louetta Conko-Camel and Noelle West each chipped in 11 points in the win for the Scarlets.

 

Wrestling

Polson Pirates and Arlee Warriors

The Polson Pirates and Arlee Warriors wrestling faced stout competition during the eight-team Buzz Lucey Tourney in Eureka on Friday, Dec. 21. Polson placed third as a team with a score of 131. Arlee finished seventh with a team score of 48 points. Two Pirates finished at the top of their brackets, including Maysn Cowell winning at 120 pounds and Aaron O`Roake finishing on top at 205. Justice Moore was the lone second place winner for the Pirates at 205 pounds.

Gavin Knutson at 103, Caleb Pierre at 152, Garrett Croft at 160, Sean Calahan at 182 and AJ Mathewson at 205 all finished in third by winning their consolation brackets for the Pirates. Pirates Braedon Illiff at 103, Irish Cenicola at 113, Tyren Stidham at 126, Kaden Blixt at 205 and Jasper Drake at 285 all reached the finals of their consolation brackets but lost the lead and picked up fourth place.

For the Arlee wrestlers, Colt Crawford took second at 138 and Skyler Titsworth finishing second at 152 in their final matches.  

 

Mission-Charlo Bulldogs

The Mission-Charlo wrestling team continued their winning ways with a dominating performance during the Bulldog hosted Mission Mountain Classic on Saturday, Dec. 22. The event was a non-scoring event with plenty of intensity and enthusiasm. Bulldog Walker Murphy (126), Kayden Carter (152), Ethan Diaz (160) and Troy Matt (170) all finished with a win. Cole Gilleard had two wins in the 138-pound class and a win in the 145-pound class. Isaac Dumontier won two matches in the 152-pound class and in the 160-pound class. Isaiah Allik won two matches in the 170-pound class and in the 182-pound class. In the 145-pound class, Darwin Adams won three events and won by pin in the 152-pound class for the Bulldogs.
