Tennis

The Ronan tennis team faced the Bigfork Vikings and the Mission Bulldogs in a double-header court matchup on Thursday. Bigfork defeated the Ronan boys 4-1 and the girls 4-0. In the Mission matchup, Ronan prevailed 6-1 over the boys and 3-1 over the girls.

 

Track and Field

Polson Pirates 

On Tuesday, April 9, Bea Frissell came out on top for the Polson girls’ track and field team at the Kalispell Time Trial Invite, which was held at the Legends Stadium in Kalispell. Frissell was first in the 1600 meter with a time of 5:27.79 and first in the 3,200-meter with a time of 11:24.59.

Mikaela Ducharme placed second in the long jump with a 16-feet jump.

For the Pirates, Boston Goode placed fourth in the 400-meters and Ryker Wenderoth was fifth in the triple jump.

At the Missoula County Public School Invite at the Missoula County Stadium on Saturday, Ducharme placed fifth in the triple jump with a jump of 38-feet and 08.25 inches. Goode placed fourth in the 400-meters with a time of 52.86 seconds.

On Sunday, the Pirates’ track and field coach Matt Seeley won the 31st annual Grizzly Triathlon in Missoula. After a four-year hiatus, the 48-year-old Seeley returned to the event and won it for the sixth time in his career.

Charlo Vikings 

The Florence/Darby invitational was held at the Corvallis community events center on Tuesday, April 9. Lady Viking Carlee Fryberger had herself a good day at the track with four top-five finishes. Fryberger placed first in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.68, second in the 300-meter hurdles, third in the 100-meters and fifth in the triple jump.

For the Vikings, Darian Liberty had a first-place jump of 37-feet and three inches in the triple jump. Garett Vaughan finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdles. The Vikings also placed fifth in the 4x400 boys’ relay. 

Mission Bulldogs

On Tuesday, April 9, Sydney Brander place third in both the long jump and triple jump for the Mission Bulldogs during the Florence/Darby Invitational held at the Corvallis community events center. Lady Bulldog Karolyna Buck placed third in the 800-meter race. Both Buck and Brander along with Hunter Eichert and Afton Brander finished fifth in the 4x100 relay. The boys also placed fifth in the 4x100 relay. Charlie Adams grabbed fourth place in the triple jump.

Arlee Warriors

At the Florence/Darby invitational held at the Corvallis community events center, Arlee Scarlet Peyton Lammerding scored the top place finish in the shot put with a throw of 36-feet and 8.5 inches on Tuesday, April 9. Lammerding also claimed a fourth place in the discus. For the Arlee Warriors, Jason Miller finished third in the triple jump, and Colt Crawford raced to a fourth-place showing in the 3,200.
