A Lake County woman has been ordered to pay $40,000 restitution as part of her sentence on burglary charges.

Samantha Ness, 27, was sentenced to a total of seven years with the Montana State Department of Corrections with all of those years suspended. The sentence was handed down at District Court in Polson on June 6.

The sentence resolves four separate cases against her. Ness was given two years for possessing methamphetamine in one case. Two years for a July 6, 2018, burglary in the Northwood trailer park in Pablo. Two years for a burglary at a residence on Pine Tree Lane in Pablo on July 28, 2018.

Judge Deborah “Kim” Christopher added another year for bail jumping and ran the sentences consecutively and then suspended the entire sentence. Christopher also recommended that Ness be screened for any appropriate treatment for chemical dependency and a program for expectant mothers, specifically the Wrapped in Hope program.
