Cross-Country

James Normandeau of Ronan ran 16:47.27 to take first place in the boys varsity division of the Arlee Fish Hatchery Challenge on Thursday in Arlee. Junior Brant Heiner placed third, Michael Irvine was fifth and Zarec Couture took 10th. The Ronan Chiefs placed second in the team standings followed by Mission in third, Arlee in fourth and Two Eagle River in fifth.

Isaiah Nasewytewa placed seventh with a time of 17:56.15 for a top ten finish for the Mission Bulldogs.

In the girls varsity race, Ronan Maiden Analeta Yellow Bird was second with a time of 20:31.74, while the Maidens placed third in the team standings. For the Mission Lady Bulldogs, Karolyna Buck was 10th with a time of 22:28.76.

 

Soccer

Polson Pirates

On Thursday, the Polson Pirates fell 5-0 to visiting Class A Boys Soccer State Champions and the undefeated Whitefish Bulldogs.

 

Polson Lady Pirates

Autumn Burland found the back of the net twice for the Polson Lady Pirates in an 8-2 loss to the visiting Whitefish Lady Bulldogs on Thursday. On the road Saturday, the Lady Pirates were blanked 2-0 by the Bigfork Valkyries to close out the regular season.

 

Football

Mission Bulldogs

The Mission Bulldogs defeated the Arlee Warriors with a 54-14 win on the road Friday. Jedi Christy scored three touchdowns for the Bulldogs with the longest being a 21-yard rush down the sidelines. Christy also scored on defense with a 22-yard pick six. Also scoring touchdowns for the Bulldogs were Isaac Dumontier, John Komotios and Troy Matt.

 

Ronan Chiefs

Ronan Chief quarterback Eric Dolence worked with Kolby Reum on Friday night for a third-quarter touchdown. The Chiefs fell 44-6 on the road to the Frenchtown Broncs.

 

Polson Pirates

Friday night on the road, a fourth-quarter three-yard rushing touchdown by Dugan Davis pushed the Polson Pirates past the Stevensville Yellowjackets 8-0 in a Class A football showdown. The win improved the Pirates to a 4-3 overall record on the season.

 

Charlo Vikings

Charlo Viking quarterback Wrangler Gaustad threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another in a 57-18 home loss to the Thompson Falls Bluehawks. For the Vikings Roper Edwards scored on a deep 53-yard pass and Isaiah Allik snagged a 32-yard pass for a score.

 

Volleyball

Charlo Lady Vikings

Playing in back-to-back home games this weekend, the Charlo Lady Viking kept their undefeated season intact with wins over district challengers Hot Springs and St. Regis. On Friday, the Lady Vikings swept Hot Springs in straight sets 25-19, 25-17,25-23. Carlee Fryberger paced Charlo with 10 kills, 17 digs and two blocks. Kassidy Cox had 10 assists and 10 digs.

In Saturday’s game against St. Regis, the Lady Vikings tamed the Lady Tigers in three sets 25-10,25-15, 25-11. Kira Mcphail had 11 blocks for the Lady Vikings. Connor Fryberger had 16 assists and four aces, while Liev Smith had 11 digs. 

 

Mission Lady Bulldogs

On Tuesday, Oct. 8, the Mission Lady Bulldogs battled the Ronan Maidens to a four-set 25-21, 14-25, 25-19, 26-24 home win. Lady Bulldog River Gonzalez paced the pack with 23 digs and four aces. Sydney Brander had 16 digs, and Karolyna Buck had 10 digs. The Lady Bulldogs won 25-22, 25-21, 25-11 on the road against the Troy Lady Trojans.

 

Ronan Maidens

The Ronan Maidens fell in four sets 21-25, 25-14, 19-25, 24-26 on the road to the Mission Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Maiden Leina Ulutoa had 16 digs and three aces, while Madeline McCrea had 18 kills and seven blocks. Hannah Rowe and Ulutoa each had 12 assists in the 25-18, 21-25, 17-25, 26-28 home loss to the Frenchtown Lady Broncs on Thursday evening. McCrea had 11 kills and six blocks. 

 

Polson Lady Pirates

Misty Tenas (10) and Maggie Todd (16) teamed up for 26 kills in a 25-20, 23-25, 25-17, 27-25 Lady Pirates road win against Whitefish on Tuesday, Oct. 8. On Thursday, the Lady Pirates fell in five sets 25-6, 24-26, 22-25, 25-22, 10-15 on the road to the Stevensville Lady Yellowjackets.

Lena Pawloski had 11 assists and four aces, while Todd floored 13 kills in a 25-21, 25-17, 25-23 win against Browning on Saturday. Lady Pirate Berkley Ellis chipped in with eight assists, three aces and nine digs.
