Okay, what happened to fall? We are not ready for winter so we have fun things going on at the library to take your mind off of the cold.

On Thursday, Nov. 7, Angela is hosting a Downton Abbey themed tea and coloring party. Refreshments will be served and supplies will be provided to make place cards for a holiday table or a fall note to a friend. Vintage hats are welcome.

Our after-school movie will be shown on the second Friday this month due to our book sale. On Friday, Nov. 8, at 3:45 p.m., join us for the fourth installment of a popular Disney/Pixar animated series.  Popcorn is provided. Check our website for the movie title.

In celebration of “National Novel Writing Month,” Gwen Florio will present a Humanities Montana Conversation Program entitled, “Five Steps to a Winning Novel,” on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 1 p.m. Gwen is an award-winning journalist and author. She is currently the news editor of the Missoulian. Refreshments will be served.

On Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m., just in time for holiday purchases, Heather will teach a class on online shopping safety. In this session Heather will address online scams and Internet safety. Heather is also available for 30 minute one-on-one sessions to answer your technology related questions. Call the library to schedule an appointment.

Our “Friday Night at the Library” movie this month will show on Friday, Nov. 22, at 6 p.m. This new live-action Disney release roared into theaters this spring (check our website for the title). We provide the popcorn and you are welcome to bring your own non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. Please be sure you are in the library before the doors lock at 6 p.m. as we expect a full house.

Due to the incredible generosity of our community, we need to set some limits on what we can accept and when we can accept book donations. Our new policy states that we will accept donations on Tuesdays between 10 a.m.-6 p.m. If you would like to donate more than two boxes of books, please call ahead. We have received so many wonderful donations but we are running out of space for them. This new policy will allow us to have volunteers on hand to help sort the donations immediately. For a detailed list of what we can and cannot accept, please see our website or stop by the library.

The library is open Mondays-Thursdays from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Fridays from 10 a.m-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. We will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11, for Veterans’ Day and on Thursday, Nov. 28, for Thanksgiving. Visit our website: www.northlakecountylibrary.org, or our Facebook page, and check the calendar section of the Valley Journal for updates on the happenings at the library.
