Time to snuggle up, read a good book
It’s beginning to feel a lot like winter. Is there a better time to snuggle up under a cozy blanket with a cup of hot chocolate (with whip cream of course) and settle into a good book? We love the idea of hygge and have a great book display to go with it. If you’re not familiar, hygge is a Danish word for a feeling of coziness and comfort. Think warm wooly sweaters, fuzzy socks and cable knit blankets by the fire. We hope everyone has a sense of hygge this winter season with comfort and joy.
Angela is our hostess for a seasonal sing-a-long on Thursday, Dec. 5. Drop in anytime between 5 and 6:30 p.m. to join in the festive singing. Music and live accompaniment are provided along with hot apple cider. If you can’t carry a tune, come anyway; we sing for enjoyment.
We only have one movie this month, a new kids’ adventure, showing on Friday, Dec. 6 at 3:45 p.m. Our “Fourth Friday” movies will be moving to the first Friday of each month beginning on Jan. 3 at 6 p.m. We begin the year with a brand new release; this movie is sure to be your cup of tea. Check our website for movie titles.
The second installment of our “Flipster Fun” series starts on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 5 p.m. We will make a peppermint sugar scrub from the winter Willow & Sage magazine, which is available for free on “Flipster” with your library card. Join us and make a gift for yourself or someone else. All supplies will be provided and light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP by Dec. 16 so we are sure to have enough supplies on hand. Call 406-883-8225 or mark “going” on our Facebook event page. If you can’t make it right at 5 p.m., that is okay, just let us know.
Our children’s programming continues throughout the month of December. Watch for programs on Mondays, Wednesdays and every other Friday.
If you don’t have a library card, then what are you waiting for? Give yourself the gift of free books, movies, magazines, music and so much more. There is no charge to get a library card and no minimum age. Our staff has set a December goal of adding 100 library cards, so stop by and help us meet our goal. Bring a photo ID and proof of your Montana address, (if it’s not on your ID), to the front desk and within minutes you will have access to hundreds of thousands of books, movies and more.
The library is open Mondays-Thursdays from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Fridays from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. We will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 12, for a staff development day, Dec. 24 and 25 for the Christmas holiday, and on Dec. 30 and 31 for the New Year’s holiday. Check out our library gift shop for holiday gifts.
