This month we are highlighting two displays. Our library received the “Rightfully Hers” popup display from the National Archives in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment and the women’s suffrage movement. This display is in our library atrium along with a selection of books available to check out on the subject. We also have on display the 30th Anniversary Hubble Telescope “Coral Reef” image banner in our foyer. Our library was chosen to receive and display this banner by the Space Telescope Science Institute. We will be receiving 8x10 lithographs that you can stop in to take home in the coming weeks. Some of our staff have been working on window displays in our entryway both for Hubble and for Mars Perseverance Rover as part of our NASA @ My Library grant. Stop in to view all of these great displays through November.

The North Lake County Library Foundation recently purchased new mobile shelving for our children’s area. We have been able to spread out our picture books a bit better so they are easier to browse. We are also able to put out all of our easy readers and many of our holiday books. The shelves look beautiful in the library and will fit perfectly into our renovation plans.

Don’t forget, the library now offers T-Mobile Wi-Fi hotspots and laptops. The hotspot project is funded in part with Library Services and Technology Act funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Montana State Library. We are expecting to receive more hotspots and devices in the coming weeks. With a hotspot you can get internet access to your devices anywhere that has cell service. If you need to print from your computer or mobile device, we are temporarily offering a service where you can send print jobs to the library and either pay online with a card or pay with cash at the library. Stop in or give us a call for details.

If you haven’t visited our website in a while, be sure to check it out. We have added several new digital services including CreativeBug crafting videos and tutorials and Kanopy which has thousands of movies, documentaries, children’s programming and Great Courses videos to choose from. We also post our Mother Goose videos for kids available each Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. on our YouTube channel.

Be sure to return those long overdue materials so we can clear your account of any charges.  We are now fine free on most items.

The library is open Monday – Friday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.  and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The library is open 9 a.m.-10 a.m. Wednesdays and Fridays for those individuals who are considered to be high risk. Curbside pickup is available for everyone from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday. Masks are required. Don’t forget to complete your 2020 Census.
