ST. IGNATIUS – The Mission Bulldog celebrated during last week’s homecoming festivities, and although some of the traditional homecoming activities were not feasible due to COVID-19 concerns, homecoming spirits were kept alive.

On Friday evening, the Bulldogs were able to place a checkmark in the win column with a 72-34 win against the visiting Seeley Swan Blackhawks. Quarterback Kellen McClure threw seven touchdowns to four different Bulldog receivers. Catching two touchdowns each were John Komotios (12-yards, 75-yards), Canyon Sargent (19-yards, 36-yards) and Bryce Umphrey (35-yards, 45-yards). Layne Spidel rushed for two touchdowns of 10-yards and 36-yards. Javon Bolen caught a 56-yard touchdown pass and scored a defensive touchdown after he picked up a Blackhawk fumble and rumbled it 38-yards for a late fourth-quarter score.

Students dressed up on Monday in their best out-of-this-world outfits on Galactic Day, and on Tuesday, they dressed as their favorite superhero. Students showed their salty side on Wednesday during pirate dress-up day, and their Bulldog pride was displayed during Blue and White Day on Thursday.

Also, on Friday, there was a socially distanced parade and the crowning ceremonies of both the homecoming king and queen occurred during half-time of the football game. Layne Spidel and Sydney Brander were crowned homecoming king and queen.

Capping off homecoming week, the Lady Bulldogs snagged a win by sweeping the Deer Lodge Lady Wardens 25-17, 26-24, 25-22 in a non-conference Western B volleyball matchup on Saturday afternoon.

Mayas Couture led the pack with five aces, 33 assist and six digs. Brander had an ace, 12 kills, a block and five digs. Kooper Page had an ace, 12 kills, a block and three digs.
