LAKE COUNTY — As another volleyball season came to a close, the Mission Valley saw a spectacular run with three of the five area teams advancing into state postseason tournaments.

During state competition, 15 prep-athletes received all-conference selections and four athletes received all-state team recognition for their 2020 season performance on the court.

In the Northwestern A classification, Polson and Ronan were both well represented with nine players who were named to various all-conference squads, and two players were selected for the all-state first team.

The Polson Lady Pirates earned their second consecutive state-tournament appearance with a second-place Western A divisional finish. Maggie Todd earned her second consecutive first-team all-conference and all-state team selections. Berkley Ellis made the second all-conference team list. Seniors Kobbey Smith, Ara Mercer and Hallie Moss were named all-conference honorable mentions.

Of the four Ronan Maidens to earn postseason honors, three will return next season. Madeline McCrea earned all-state and first-team all-conference. Maiden Leina Ulutoa picked up a second-team all-conference nod, while Olivia Clairmont and Rylie Lindquist, both juniors, earned all-conference honorable mentions.

Three Mission Lady Bulldog athletes were honored in Class 7B. Lady Bulldog Sydney Brander earned her second consecutive spot on the all-conference first team. Ella Arlint and Keana Thomas each made the all-conference second-team list.

In Class 6B competition, Arlee Scarlet Halle Adams nabbed a spot on the all-conference second team.

The Class C Charlo Lady Vikings, who finished the season as the 14C district champions and second in the Western C divisional tournament, had a pair of athletes who made the Class C All-State volleyball team. Carlee Fryberger and Kassidi Cox had special seasons and helped the Lady Vikings advance to this year’s state tournament as one of the final eight teams. Both players also earned first-team 14C all-conference honors, as well as Lady Viking Connor Fryberger.
