Polson, county officers respond to missing person, school threat, dead body in little more than a week

LAKE COUNTY – Law enforcement in Lake County searched for a missing person last week, notified the public of the identity of a body found at Flathead Lake and continued to respond to a school threat.
In the first incident, on Monday, Feb. 1, Lake County 911 took a report at 12:45 p.m. that Korrine Peterson, of Spokane, Washington, had been taken against her will by her boyfriend, John Monday, also of Spokane. “Officers conducted extensive searches of county roads in these areas but were not able to locate them,” Bell said.
On Tuesday night, Peterson was located by Idaho State Police. The suspect, Monday, was not located at that time. On Feb. 3, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office reported that Monday had been arrested by Polson police and was in custody at the Lake County Detention Center.
In a second incident, on Tuesday, Feb. 2, in Miami, a man who threatened shooting violence at Cherry Valley Elementary School was arrested a second time. “Parents should be able to rest easy knowing he is back in jail in Florida,” the Polson Police Department stated.
On Saturday, Jan. 23, law enforcement were notified that an individual had threatened to conduct a mass shooting at Cherry Valley Elementary School. “The Polson Police Department takes all threats of violence seriously and began investigating the incident,” the department said.
Linde Lambson, who is living in Florida, was identified as the suspect.Polson Police contacted the Miami Beach Police Department in Florida, who took Lambson into custody without incident on Jan. 26. Miami police obtained a confession from Lambson before the arrest, according to the department.
On Monday, Feb. 1, Lambson was released on bond. “We were unaware that he was eligible for bond,” stated the Polson Police Department. “Why he was released is a question for the courts in Miami Beach, Florida.”
Upon learning of Lambson’s release, Polson Police sent a notice to the Polson School District. “We also requested that (Lambson) be picked back up and held for trial,” the Polson Police Department states. “He was re-arrested on Tuesday in Miami.”
In the third incident, on Feb. 2, Lake County 911 received a report that a body had been found on the shore of Flathead Lake, in Polson. Sheriff Bell reports that an investigation was conducted and “foul play” is not suspected. The victim was later identified as 35-year-old Sherelle Leigh Martin, of Jamul, California.
“The initial findings appear that Sherelle passed away from hypothermia, pending toxicology finding from the Montana Crime Lab,” Bell said. “The Lake County Sheriff and the Coroner’s Office express our condolences to the family for their loss.”
