Law enforcement from multiple Montana agencies were involved in a high-speed pursuit that began Saturday night in Lake County and ended early Sunday morning in Flathead County. The driver was identified as Joseph Brown, 36.

In Lake County, emergency dispatchers were notified of a “road rage” incident on U. S. Highway 93, just north of Ravalli, near mile-marker 29, at 11:29 p.m. on Saturday, March 20. It was reported that one motorist sideswiped another motorist and continued north without stopping.

Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino issued a press release stating that deputies with his department were able to intercept the suspect’s vehicle as it approached Lakeside at 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 21.

The deputies were able to deploy spike strips near Angel Point Road, along U. S. Highway 93, that helped disable the suspect’s vehicle. A pursuit intervention technique was used to stop the vehicle entirely just south of Lakeside. Brown was then identified as the driver.

The Lake County jail roster shows that Brown was wanted for distributing drugs, fleeing or eluding law enforcement, criminal endangerment, driving while under the influence, driving with a revoked or suspended license and assault. A warrant was also out for his arrest. His bond is listed at $250,000.
