Editor,

The Second Chance and the Pheasant Lounge would like to thank everyone that made our Ronan Pioneer Days street dance a success: Bill Webster and the Ronan Telephone Co. for the cable stools and construction fence, Bryan Bohn for the trailer, Wayne Peterson and John Neiss for the construction of the canopy for the bandstand.

We were glad that CSKT Tribal Police and Lake County Police provided law enforcement and that so many people helped participate in the clean-up of more than over 10 city streets in Ronan, the city park and the school area until 6:30 a.m. both mornings.

As for the misprint in the Valley Journal at the City Council meeting we attended in regards to our street dance application, I, Kandi Davis, am not the owner of an establishment in Ronan. I work at the Second Chance.

I am however becoming a more informed citizen by attending the Ronan City Council meetings as well as the Ronan Park Board meetings. I am doing this because I am concerned for the well-being of our community, the new highway project that is going to divide our town and my concern for our future generations. I was born and raised in this community, and in the last year and a half it has become apparent to a mass amount of people that our town is suffering from community decay. We need a change in leadership to turn this around.

The taxpayers, community members, families and business owners deserve better than what we have been given. I have no confidence in our city leadership and hope that with the election in November, voters will become knowledgeable about what is happening at our City Council meetings and within the public works department.
