COLUMBIA FALLS — The Lady Pirates have been unstoppable, wrangling in key hits and producing shut-outs while showing no mercy to their opponents. On Tuesday the Lady Pirates stomped Columbia Falls on the Wildkats home turf 3-0. Jessica Bagnell was on fire from the circle, striking out nine, throwing a complete game and grabbing a conference win for the Lady Pirates. Hannah Potter claimed responsibility for two of the Lady Pirates three runs driving in two RBIs.
At Belgrade Friday and Saturday the Lady Pirates won two, allowing only one run to cross home on their watch at the Belgrade Invitational. The first game played against Lewistown showed an 8-0 shutout performance by the Lady Pirates. Bagnell stood fast for the Lady Pirates tossing a big no-hitter while offensively Jaylin Kenney went 2-3 touching home plate twice. Jaiden Toth and Emma Shew brought in two runs apiece.
Game two gave the Lady Pirates a 5-1 win over Havre. Lady Pirate Kyrie Bitterman went 2-2 with an RBI and Potter helped out with another two RBIs.
Bagnell threw 21 strikeouts over the weekend’s 10 innings.
The Lady Pirates will host Whitefish April 17 and Libby April 24.
