Oratorical winner
RONAN — Jacob Dresen, winner of the local post-level American Legion Oratorical Scholarship contest, poses with Glen Sharbono of Post 138 and shows off his medal and Certificate of Distinction. Dresen, a student of Ronan High School, took first place with his prepared oration titled: “Knowing Your Rights.” The first place award at the National level is $18,000. Post 138 awarded Jacob a $75 scholarship, a certificate of distinction, a Gold Patrick Henry Oratory Medal and lapel pin. Post 138 would like to thank Jacob and wish him the best of luck as he progresses throughout the American Legion Oratorical Scholarship Contest.
