Scholarship winner
Josiah Pettit was awarded the Whitehall Garden Club Scholarship for 2017 in the amount of $500. Josiah, a forestry management major at Salish Kootenai College, distinguished himself with his academic ability (he has a 4.0 GPA) and his community service. He has been a gardener since childhood and has a passion for horticulture and botany. He has worked as a ranchhand and also at scout camps teaching natural resource merit badges, and he holds the rank of Eagle Scout. He hopes to become a leader in forest management and help maximize the health and productivity of our nation’s forests. Josiah is the son of Jim and Shirley Pettit of Ronan.
