Editor,

This is my response to Mr. Johnny Kills On Top’s letter that was printed in the Journal on Aug. 13. He attempts to assassin my character and speak guilely about our Tribe.

First of all, the name is Sharlene Peone. My friend and I laughed so hard after reading Johnny Kills On Tops’ second paragraph, I nearly fell off my chair. Unfortunately, some people lack wisdom and he could very well be at the top of the list. Perhaps Missoula County is a good place for him and not the heart of the Reservation where I reside.

Some advice for him: you might be more useful if you use words of truth, more than the two truthful words you pulled from my letter about Mr. Gale’s letters.

I believe in vision, not wishes; if I did, I’d wish that in 1909 the Federal Government wouldn’t have opened the reservation.

I don’t hate people, the only thing I hate are snakes and a rats.

From Psalms 120: “Deliver my soul, oh Lord, from lying lips and deceitful tongue. What shall be given unto thee? Or what shall be done unto a false tongue? Sharp arrows of might with coals of juniper. I am for peace, but when they speak, they are for war.”
