POLSON – The Polson girls soccer team continued their season this past week, hosting Bigfork at home, and facing a tough challenge in Columbia Falls on the road Saturday. Against Bigfork, Sarah Howell played a big role in the Lady Pirate offense, scoring the first two points for Polson as they swept the Vals 3-0.

Howell’s first score came at the 21-minute mark, when she received a pass from Brynn Rowley, to tap in the goal. Her second goal came at the 42-minute mark, with Linnea Madsen picking up the assist.

Jamie Young gave the Lady Pirates their final point at the 73-minute mark, after Madeline Hewston passed the ball for the assist.

With the win, Polson improved to 3-4-0 overall, and 2-1-0 in conference play, while Bigfork dropped to 0-7-1 overall.

On Saturday, the Lady Pirates faced some stiff competition when they traveled to Columbia Falls, where the Wildkats’ offense proved to be too much for Polson.

For Columbia Falls, Danielle Delventhal put up four goals to help her team sweep Polson 7-0 in the Northwest A win.

For Polson, Monica Cleveland made six saves.
