Editor,

In the Sept. 4 issue of the Char-Koosta, the newspaper failed to inform readers that only Polson, Elmo and areas around the Lake are part of The Corbell Land Buy Back Program. All other districts will not have this information if they read from the Tribal newspaper.

Regarding Energy Keepers, Inc., the Char-Koosta did not state that there are four gates that need to be fixed. EKI and Northwest Energy will have to pay for this from Tribal shareholders’ expense.

In a separate meeting Brian Lipscomb stated that remainder of the Salazar monies will be used for the purchase of Kerr Dam and related issues of the Dam.

Also, Char-Koosta failed to mention that the biomass study has resulted to be another failed investment for Tribal shareholders. Large amounts of monies have been allocated towards this biomass project. Now the question needs to be addressed and answered, “What happens to the monies already given out to biomass?”

It would be wise for Tribal shareholder members to attend council meetings, get involved and have a say regarding how your tribal monies are being spent.

I would like to thank Councilperson Patty Stevens for having such an interesting meeting and bringing so much needed information. It is important that the reporters representing Char-Koosta will be concise in reporting news at these meetings, thus avoiding misquotes.
