October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
There are many cancer awareness colors to designate the different types of cancers; pink is for breast cancer.
One out of every two men will develop cancer in their lifetime; one out of every three women will develop cancer in their lifetime.
Now is when you should take the time to learn about measures to protect yourself.
We can start by eating healthy fruits and vegetables.
Avoid tobacco, limit alcohol and wear a SPF 30 or higher sunscreen. Maintain physical activity and healthy weight, and know the warning signs for common cancers and perform regular self-exams.

There is hope with the progress being made in finding cures for cancer.
