RONAN – The Ronan Maidens were handed a tough loss on Saturday, when their third game rally wasn’t enough to keep Troy from earning a 3-1 victory in a Class B match-up. It was a hard-fought battle, as the Maidens lost the first two games by a combined 6 points. In the third game, the Maidens started off hot, building a strong lead and keeping it to win 25-20. In the fourth game, the Trojans shut the door, winning big 25-13 to seal the deal.
For the Maidens, Ashleigh Lynch led her team with 12 digs and seven kills. Darian Blixt-Leo, Alaina Madsen and Bethany Colman added a pair of blocks each. Blixt-Leo also earned four aces.
With the loss, the Maidens fell to 0-11.
The Maidens played Loyola on Tuesday at home, and will play Florence on the road on Saturday.
