Duffey finishes top five at District meet

RONAN – With a time of 17:33, Ronan Chief Jackson Duffey crossed the finish line in fifth place at the Ronan-hosted class 6B and 7B District run.
Daniel Koehler placed 11th with a time of 18:13 and Nate Dennis rounded out the top 20 in 19th, finishing the three mile run with a 18:33 which helped the Chief team to a third place finish and an overall score of 87.
The Maidens placed fifth as a team with a score of 97. Leading the Maidens finishing in 13th was Penney Weyant coming in at 22:36. In 15th was Tashyna Matt with a time of 22:59.
The Chiefs and Maidens will head to Helena Oct. 25 for State competition.

Team scores-Thompson Falls 48, Eureka 61, Ronan 87, Loyola Sacred Heart 92. Teams that did not qualify for team score include Mission, Plains, Bigfork and Deer Lodge.
GIRLS
Team scores - Bigfork 48, Plains 69, Eureka 79, Loyola Sacred Heart 95, Ronan 97. Teams that did not qualify for team score include Mission, Deer Lodge and Thompson Falls.
