DIXON — As of this writing, our beautiful fall came back for a couple days ... 65 degrees on my deck.
We were pleased to have a former resident of Plains and “historian” of this area, Maurice (Mouse) Helterline, come for lunch, accompanied by his driver Joe Korona. He now lives in Missoula and just felt like riding into Dixon for lunch. Did you know Highway 200 from Ravalli to Idaho is designated a National Scenic Highway?
Our new cook, Jen, is doing a great job, preparing special treats, ( cream puffs and peppermint pie), along with other yummy dishes. We were treated to a delicious chicken noodle soup recently, in anticipation of colder days.
Bring your family or guests, and join us for meals at noon on Thursdays and 5 p.m. on Monday evenings. Notice the time change, along with the return to Mountain Standard Time. Pinochle will be at 1:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday each month. Come play and stay for dinner on November 24. Meals are still only $4.
The menu for the rest of the month will be:
• Thursday, Nov. 13: taco salad
• Monday, Nov. 17: lasagna
• Thursday, Nov. 20: pre-Thanksgiving Dinner—turkey and all the trimmings
• Monday, Nov. 24: chicken Alfredo
• Thursday, Nov. 27: we will be closed on Thanksgiving Day
It’s getting to be that time of year — just for a minute, stop and remember what “you” are be thankful for.
