POLSON — Xochitl Holdbrook brought the black, purple and turquoise Mardi Gras quilt back to the Polson Senior Center to meet the ladies who made the quilt.
Master quilters Mary Arden and Betty Gerrity hand quilted the top, which was pieced by local quilter Babs Brown. Arden and Gerrity started stitching on Dec. 15 and finished on Jan. 13. Then Kay Stam bound the quilt.
The women collaborated on the quilt so it could be auctioned off at the Mardi Gras fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club. The celebration was held on Feb. 6 at the KwaTaqNuk Resort and Casino, where Holdbrook and her husband purchased the quilt.
