James Alexander Murdock
POLSON — James Alexander Murdock, 87, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 of natural causes at Ronan’s St. Luke Community Hospital.
Jim was born to William and Maggie Russell Murdock July 12, 1922 and was raised in Whitefish, graduating in 1940.
Jim married Miriam L. Allred May 21, 1955. In 1960, they moved to Great Falls where Jim worked as a mechanic. In 1968, he worked for Great Northern Railroad, retiring in 1988 when they moved to Polson to farm and raise horses. Jim lost Miriam in 2006.
Jim was preceded in death by parents; wife; one brother; three sisters; son, Russell; granddaughter, Felecia; and grandson, Terry.
He is survived by children Ivan Murdock, Katherine (John) Chaney and David (Lois) Murdock; sister, Izabelle (Smokey) Metcalf; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
There will be no public funeral services. The family is planning a private memorial service at a later date.
