Let's test the waters and find out how many conservatives there really are. Let the Tea Party and the Republicans succeed in their wishes to cut Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and the other social programs on their hit list. Just make the date that all of their cuts take effect no sooner than 2015.

Let the Democrats pass their revenue enhancement programs effective immediately but with an expiration date of 2015.

Between now and then, let all candidates declare that they will either restore Social Security benefits, Medicare and Medicaid equal to what they were in 2010, or they will base their campaigns on supporting the cuts that will take place in 2015 plus elimination of whatever revenue enhancements were passed in 2011.

That looks like a win-win situation for all sides.
