POLSON — Brody, Polson Police Department’s new canine officer, has a new safety vest, bulletproof and stab proof; and Rich Rimley has a beautiful new quilt.
A Stitch in Time, a Mission Bay quilting group, sewed a quilt made with Kaffe Fassett fabrics to raffle off for a vest for Brody, a 4-year-old yellow lab. Rimley’s name was drawn on New Year’s Eve at the sky lantern event below Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center.
Claudette Beckendorf, member of the quilters, said the raffle raised enough to pay for the vest, plus an extra $200 for training or other expenses for Brody. She said the community really got behind the effort for a vest, and the quilters appreciated the support.
