POLSON — Local veterans will offer a free public presentation at North Lake County Public Library in Polson on Wednesday, March 4, at 7 p.m. The program will focus on the highly acclaimed book “The Things They Carried” by Tim O’Brien. Everyone is welcome, and refreshments will be served.

The key speaker will be Sgt. Chuck Lewis, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran from Ronan.

“The Things They Carried” is a collection of stories about an American platoon in the Vietnam conflict. It is a classic work of American literature, and is considered one of the finest books of the era. The work is fictional, rather than being a traditional nonfictional historical account.

For more information, please call North Lake County Public Library at (406) 883-8225 or stop by the circulation desk at 2 First Ave. E. in Polson.
