Editor,
Kudos to the Polson Middle School teachers for supporting the District 23 spelling bee. Our students need challenges to inspire them. Many thanks to the Lower Flathead Valley Community Foundation for the generous travel stipend to the state spelling bee in Billings March 21. All of Taleah's teachers from Miss Roxy at On Our Way Montessori to Mrs. Bowen, Mrs. Delaney, Mrs. Lozar, Mrs. Fisher, Mrs. Ayers and Mrs. Mills support and encourage all their students to do their best and a little more.
However, Taleah' s first teacher was her paternal grandmother, a teacher of teachers with two Master's degrees and a playful imagination. Before preschool, Taleah and her grandmother would draw a map of Puerto Rico and spend hours filling it in with words and pictures. I am so grateful to Abuela America Nieves Morales and all of Taleah' s teachers. They will be pleased to know Taleah is studying hard and is honored to represent her community and county at the state bee.
