In reference to the Ronan Police chief’s new toys for the department, am I the only one that read that article and shook my head and asked why would the new chief state that the new 26-inch batons are a good intimidation factor?
The chief had a perfect opportunity to educate the public when he was asked what they were for. Instead he dropped the ball and didn’t help the department’s already infamous past. On the opposite end of the spectrum you have other agencies within Lake County educating the citizens by having methamphetamine awareness meetings and putting sticky notes on businesses that give them peace of mind.
I wonder if the words “intimidating” and “very nice looking” are in the department’s mission statement?
