Editor,
It’s completely baffling to me that people write in letters defining love. In God’s standard of healthy relationships it goes so far as to state that if I “didn’t love others, I would be nothing.” Exact words in Harvey A. Town’s previous letter. Well, a couple of weeks ago, I recall Mr. Town stating that if someone doesn’t follow God as far as he does, if they don’t love the same way he does, they’re considered “abnormal.” Contradiction: a combination of statements, ideas, or features in of a situation that are opposed to one another. If that doesn’t make my point, I don’t know what does.
Denying equal rights to another group of human beings based on your religious beliefs is still called bigotry. Why should civil rights be dictated by your interpretation of parts of the Bible you choose to believe in?
Cheers to refusing to be backed into a religious corner. I’m no saint and neither are you.
