Editor,
On March 8, 10 firefighters from our area set out to climb 1,311 stairs (69 floors) at the Columbia Center in Seattle, alongside other firefighters from around the world with a united goal: to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Cancer Society.
The Polson Firefighters who climbed were Pete Bishop, Martin Glasson, Chris McGuinness, Kevin Straub, Jodi O’Sullivan, Matt Sisler, Julie Sisler, James McKee, Wes Barr and Blake Holman.
To borrow words from another firefighter, the event is much more than a climb. It’s synergy. It’s 1,500-plus firefighters from all over coming together to show our strength in numbers and dollars. It’s an addiction to a cure for leukemia and lymphoma; we climbed for those who can’t.
Our giving community deserves a heartfelt “thank you” for all of the donations toward this great cause.
