POLSON – The Lady Pirates are off to a promising start after opening up their season with a pair of wins in the home-hosted, mini round robin Saturday.
While fighting wind and raindrops, the Lady Pirates got it started with a 7-4 win over Butte Central. After a shaky first inning allowing Butte to score four, the Lady Pirates defense held tight throughout the rest of the contest with Camas Renault grabbing the win from the circle.
Lady Pirate Taylor Brackey led a steady 2-3 effort at the dish while Kaelen Wall was responsible for four Polson runs logging a quad of RBIs. Skyla Krantz belted a triple in her 1-2 plate showing while Sarah Rausch logged a duo of RBIs off of a double.
Game two pitted Polson against Anaconda. After only giving up two hits from the circle, Renault helped keep Polson on top as the Lady Pirates secured the 8-2 win.
Brackey mirrored her first game going 2-3 but added a double and RBI. Krantz picked up a pair of RBI’s off of a hard-hit double.
The Lady Pirates will host Hamilton Thursday and then head to Columbia Falls April 7.
