Editor,
To all tribal members: it is urgent for you to attend the quarterly meeting on April 3, 2015 if you have concerns on the Gray Wolf Peak casino expansion. Tribal members who have attended the district meetings in the last few months are questioning the purpose for this expansion.
My question is: has there been an environmental review that will analyze the impacts of this new large casino? If so we need to see this document. This is not the case of just because this is a tribal enterprise there is no responsibility to the community and the tribal membership.
The areas of environmental concerns need to be analyzed to include land resources, water resources, air quality, noise, biological resources, cultural/historical/archeological resources, resource use patterns, traffic and transportation, public health and safety, hazardous materials and hazardous wastes, public services and utilities, socioeconomics, environmental justice, visual resources/aesthetics and cumulative, indirect and growth-inducing effects.
Please don’t let the tribal council railroad this proposal through without proper consideration for their tribal membership as a whole and their beloved reservation. The almighty dollar is not worth the destruction of the homeland, members and their families.
Please attend the quarterly meeting to voice your concerns.
