POLSON — The Polson summer season will start off with a bang as teams take to the field during the Chamber Blast on June 20. Held at Big Sky Sporting Clays, this annual fundraiser is sponsored by the Polson Chamber of Commerce and supports community activities including the Fourth of July fireworks show.
The registration fee is $110 per person or $330 for a three-member team and includes 100 targets, 100 shells, a barbecue lunch and awards ceremony. A registration form is available online at www.polsonchamber.com. Participants are asked to bring their own shotgun, eye protection and ear protection.
Station sponsorships are also available for $150. Sponsors receive recognition at the shooting station, at the awards ceremony and in Polson Chamber newsletters. The deadline for registration is June 15.
Organizers stress that this is not a competition just for the experts. Beginners are encouraged to participate and learn more about the sport. A Beginner’s Shooting Clinic will be held from 8:30- 9 a.m. before the competition begins. Following a safety briefing for all participants, the tournament will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will be followed by lunch and the awards ceremony.
