HELENA — On June 2, Makueeyapee Whitford’s attorneys filed for a sentence review by Montana Supreme Court justices.
Whitford was found guilty of deliberate homicide, a felony, in the murder of John Pierre, Jr., at the end of a week long trial on December 22, 2014.
Whitford stabbed Pierre in the early morning hours of March 15, 2013, in a yard at a late-night party in Polson.
On April 29 Judge James Manley sentenced Whitford to 60 years in the Montana State Penitentiary with parole possible only after he served 25 years.
